CamSemi PSS controllers are aimed at high volume, universal input applications rated at 1 to 8 W including:
- chargers for mobile phones, digital cameras, handheld games and other portable devices
- external power adaptors
These novel devices help manufacturers comply fully with the latest efficiency regulations - including the 5 star rating system for mobile phones chargers - while cutting costs. And without compromising performance.
Advanced features include:
- Primary side sensing – with no optocoupler or feedback components required and using cost-effective bipolar transistors instead of expensive MOSFETs.
- +/- 5% current and voltage regulation – to eliminate costly current regulation components. Allowing manufacturers to meet the strict performance specifications for mobile phone chargers at no additional cost.
- Low no-load power consumptions - to deliver top specification 5 star-rated chargers without adding cost, components or compromising performance, such as start-up times.
- ‘One size fits all’ frequency adjustment – to cut inventory and lower risk.
- Fully programmable cable compensation – to minimise the copper content of cables and cut costs. And the adjustment is done within the design phase to improve manufacturing flexibility.
